This project is about the issue of colorism. Bangladeshi people have the misconception that only fair skin is beautiful. They desire a fair child, a fair life partner. Bangladeshi people glorify fair skin in a way that being dark is a crime. Women are the main victims, especially the brides. My zine is giving the message of what colorism is, how women get bullied by it, how their mental and physical health is affected by it and how to deal with colorism. This zine is for parents, relatives and friends who need to know that judging a woman is not a right thing to do. Most importantly this zine is for the woman who is not comfortable in their own skin. I want women to feel confident the way they are.
